  • [S832] F. Phelps Leach, Lawrence Leach of Salem, MA and Some of His Descendants (F. Phelps Leach, East Highgate, VT, 1924),Partial photocopy in personal files. Note that Robert Charles Anderson in The Great Migration Begins, Vol. II, p.1164 is very critical of this reference, especially the children listed for Lawrence Leach which apparently include members of other families. He is particularly critical of the information on Robert Leach which apparently mixes information on Robert Leach of Manchester, an actual son of Lawrence, and Robert Leach of Charlestown who was another person. However, in all cases where it has been possible to check this reference against Massachusetts Vital Records, the reference has been accurate. It may be that the problem is primarily limited to the immediate children of Lawrence Leach and their English ancestors rather than subsequent descendants.,.
