Rebecca Vickery

     Rebecca was probably one of the three unidentified daughters of George and Rebecca (Phippen) Vickery who lived next door to the Prince family in Hull (Donald Lines Jacobus, "The Phippen Family and the Wife of Nathan Gold" in The American Genealogist, 17:7.) Rebecca Vickery was born in 1652?.1

Rebecca married John Prince in 1672 in Hull, Plymouth Co., Massachusetts. John and Rebecca had at least the following children although others may have died as infants in the 13-year gap between the first and second births:

In 1680 he contributed 3 pound, 17 shillings toward the building of the Hingham Meeting House, now known as the Old Ship Church, and the oldest frame church in continuous use in the United States.      Joseph was the master of one of the 34 ships in the Phips expedition against the French in 1690. His ship was lost and he was taken prisoner at Quebec where he later died. Jacob's Company along with his brother-in-law Isaac Prince at Dedham on 10 December 1675 (Bodge, Soldiers in King Philips War, 161, 163). Christopher Wheaton was born before 1645.1
