     John Wheeler was born circa 4 November 1591 at St. Edmunds, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.1 He married Agnes Yeomans on 1 December 1611 at St. Edmunds, Salisbury, Wiltshire, England.2 John emigrated to New England before 1640 with his wife and seven of their children, leaving four or possibly five of their sons in Salisbury. He settled first in Hampton but moved to Newbury before 1650.

In 1646, John, his wife, and his wife's brother, David Wheeler, were fined in Newbury, Massachusetts for "gathering peas on the Sabbath."3

John died on 29 August 1670 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.4

Hugh Milliken

     The name Milliken is of Saxon origin. It was first written Millingas as early as the thirteenth century, also by the Normans as Millinges meaning "a thousand angels". It is of Norman origin. The name is MILLIKEN or MULLIKEN in Scotland, from where the family is traced. The coat-of-arms embrace the shield with two eagles, one on each side, with closed wings.

Hugh Milliken was doubtlessly born in Scotland in 1664-1665 and died in 1749. He was a member of the Scots Charitable Society of Boston as early as 1681, and continued to be as long as he resided in Boston or until his death. Hugh Milliken was born circa 1632 in in Scotland.1

Hugh married Eleanor Allison in 1650?.2

Hugh died in April 1706 in Boston.3
