Ruby was living with her husband Larry Dwight Bottoms at 7281 1/2 E. 6th at Hutchinson, Reno County, Kansas, in 1951. She was listed as a machine operator at Hutchinson bag where her mother also worked..5

By August, 1974, Larry & Ruby had sold their home in Hutchinson and were running a gas station on Hiway 56 about 20 miles east of Lyons where they had a nice trailer home. Larry was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 172, the Salina Consistory, and the Isis Shrine, Salina.6 She was a property manager for mobile home parks.7

Ruby died of pneumonia at the Prairie Sunset Homes on 9 April 2009 at Pretty Prairie, Kansas, at age 83. Cremation was handled by Heritage Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Hutchinson, Kansas.8
