Martha married Benjamin Stafford Jr. on 31 May 1833 in Greene County, Indiana. Martha and Benjamin had four children, namely Luzetta (ca1833-ca1850), Berlin (1835-1917), Isaiah (ca1838-?), and Dorcas (1840-1859)..3

Martha died in 1844.4

     John Ball was born on 19 April 1813 in Ohio.1,2

In August 1816, Dennis Ball was appointed John's guardian until the age of 14.3

John married Phebe Archer on 6 December 1832 in Parke County, Indiana.5

John was listed as the head of household in the 1850 Census in Stockton Township, Greene County, Indiana. He was 37, born in Ohio, and listed as a farmer with $300 real estate. Included in the household were his wife Phebe, 34 OH; 7 daughters (Mary, 16; Martha, 14; Sarah,12; Phebe A, 10; Lucetta, 9; Elizabeth, 4; and Lucinda, 1); and 1 son Isiah, 7. All the children were born in Indiana. Also in the household was his wife's brother, Jacob Archer, 22 IN.6

John was listed as the head of household in the 1860 Census in Smith Township, Greene County, Indiana. He was 47, born in Ohio, and listed as a farmer with $1270 real estate. Included in the household were his wife Phebe, 44 OH; 5 sons (Isaiah, 16; Jacob, 8; Solomon, 5; William T., 3; and John J., 1); and 3 daughters (Martha, 24; Phebe A., 20; and Elizabeth, 14). All the children were born in Indiana.7

John died on 10 February 1863 at Greene County, Indiana, at age 49.8,2 He was buried in the Stanley Cemetery at Jefferson Township, Greene County, Indiana.8,2
