Obediah was listed in the 1774 Census of Glocester, RI with 1 male over 16, 1 male under 16, 1 female over 16, and 1 female under 16.2 On 1 August 1774, Obediah Esten of Glocester and wife Joanna sold 5 acres in Glocester to George Bowen.2 On 28 April 1775 Obadiah and Joanna Esten deeded land to Albin Luther of Killingly.2

Obediah married Joanna Tinkham circa 1775?.3 Joanna and Obediah had at least 5 children, probably born in Foster, RI, including:

He deeded more land to Henry on 10 April 1810.2 On 28 August 1815 Obadiah Eastin of Foster, yeoman, deeded part of his home lot in Foster to Stephen Eastin of Foster, laborer. On 27 March 1819, he deeded more land to Stephen. On 10 August 1840, he deeded more land in Foster to Susanna Eastin, widow of Stephen Eastin.2 He died on 7 August 1842 at Foster, Providence County, Rhode Island, at the age of 93 years, 1 month, and 19 days (per gravestone).2

Esek married Renew Tinkham in November 1776 in Town of Glocester, Providence County, Rhode Island. Renew and Esek had at least 2 children, including:

- George, born about 1781.
