  5. [S832] F. Phelps Leach, Lawrence Leach of Salem, MA and Some of His Descendants, p. 40. This reference says his will was proved on 1 March 1798. Beverly VR records the death of Benjamin Leech on 7 January 1799 at the age of 74 years, 11 months. This indicates a birth date about 7 February 1724, fairly close to Benjamin's recorded birth on 25 January 1724/25. But this age at death is exactly the same as that recorded for his wife Mary in 1800 which seems doubtful. Coupled with an apparent date of March 1798 for his will, it looks like this entry in the VR was probably incorrect.
