Matilda married William Vanlandingham in 1839?.3

Matilda appeared in the census of 1850 in the household of her husband William Vanlaningham at Posey Township, Washington County, Indiana. She was 30, born in Indiana. However, it seems likely that Matilda was born in Kentucky (as indicated in 1860 Census), not Indiana.4

John Harvey

M, b. circa 1795, d. before 1850
FatherSipple Harvey b. 1750, d. a 1840
MotherFirst Wife [--?--] Harvey b. 1770?
The data on John Harvey are quite speculative. The one definite fact is that he is a son of Sipple Harvey as indicated in a gift from Sipple Harvey to John Harvey, his son, in 1840. The 1840 Census includes a John Harvey living in close proximity to Sipple's other two sons, Anderson and James so it is reasonable to assume that this John was also Sipple's son. The other members of the 1840 household are presumed to be John's children. Unfortunately neither John nor his wife have been found in the 1850 Census but the names of most of his presumed family are there.

John Harvey was born about 1795..1

John married Elizabeth Unknown Harvey circa 1819.2

John was listed as the head of household in the 40-50 age group in the 1840 Census at Greene County, Indiana. Included in the household were one female 40-50, presumably his wife; one male and one female 20-29, presumably his son and daughter; one male 15-19, possibly his son Alfred; one female 10-14, possibly his daughter Elizabeth Jane; and two females 5-9, possibly his daughters Charity and Abigail..3

On 17 Aug 1840,John received a gift of 30 acres (partial of SW 1/4 SW 1/4 Sec 8) and 40 acres (NE 1/4 NE 1/4 Sec 18) from his father Sipple Harvey.4

John probably died some time before 1850 since he has not been found in that census and most of his children are living in their own household.

Elizabeth Unknown Harvey

F, b. 1801
Elizabeth Unknown Harvey was born in 1801. Her maiden name and place of birth are unknown. Her birthdate in the 1850 Census is 1801 which is just barely consistent with her age group in 1840 if she was the unnamed older woman in John Harvey's household..1

Elizabeth married John Harvey circa 1819.2
