     Per Davis, Mass & Maine Families, p.540, Joseph Lunt was born in Newbury, Mass. on 24 March 1680/81, the son of Daniel and Mary Lunt. He married first Martha Noyes on 29 December, 1702. After her death on 26 June 1706, he married Joanna Adams on 4 December 1708.

Joseph was a yeoman and also owned a mill. With his first wife, Martha Noyes, Joseph had two children, Tabitha (b.1703) and Mary (1705-1725), both born in Newbury. With his second wife, Joanna Adams, he had seven more children.

Joseph died on 14 October 1751, aged 70 years. Joanna, his widow, died on 31 December 1768, aged 90. Joseph Lunt was born on 24 March 1680/81 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.1

James Merrill

James married Mary Adams on 23 November 1714 in Newbury, Essex County, Massachusetts.3 James moved from Newbury to Stratham, New Hampshire after 1714.4

James lived in Newbury until about 1725 and then removed to Stratham, NH, whence in 1738 he removed to New Casco(Falmouth), ME. He owned a large farm on the northeast side of the Presumpscot River, which he bought from Gen., Waldo. In 1739 he was admitted to the First Church in Falmouth, and was selectman several years from 1741. In his will he is styled "gentleman."5 James made a will on 6 April 1753 at Falmouth, York County, Massachusetts, (now Cumberland, ME).. Bequests were given in the will to his wife Mary; his sons Humphrey, Adams, James, Joshua, and Silas; his daughters Rebecca (Cauley), Priscilla, Mary (Noyes), Dorothy, and Susanna; and the children of his son Israel, namely Israel, Abia, Nicholas, and Levi. The will was probated 3 October 1757..6

James died on 16 March 1757 in Falmouth, York County, Massachusetts, (now Cumberland, ME), at age 68.2

Nathaniel and Hannah had at least one child; Deacon Roger Merrill, b. 10 Mar 1713, married Mary Hale 1o Mar 1730-31, died 12 May 1791, buried Walnut Hill Cemetery.2

Nathaniel died on 22 February 1742/43 in Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts, at age 60.3 He was buried at the Walnut Hill Cemetery at West Newbury, Essex Co., Massachusetts.4

Benjamin served under General Amherst who took Louisburg from the French on July 26, 1758. Benjamin was killed in the battle for Louisburg.5 He died in 1758 at Canada. He was killed in the Battle of Louisburg, Cape Breton, Canada.1
