In an Agreement on 25 February 1852, Samuel Chadd, George W. Vice, John Flinn, and William Kinsler, heirs of Thomas Kinsler, agreed to pay $150 to Ellen Kinsler, his widow, and to insure that she remains in possession of N1/2 SW1/4 Sec17, Twp14N, Rge3W for the rest of her life.4
Ellen was listed as the head of household in the 1860 Census in Marion, Putnam County, Indiana. She was 57, born in Virginia, and listed as a farmer with $1600 real estate. Ellen is listed as Ellen Kinsler. Included in her household were Harvey (28 KY) and Elizabeth (29 KY) Clark and their children, Samuel (2 IN) and Mary (1 IN). It seems very likely that Harvey Clark was Ellen's nephew, son of Robert Clark and Nancy Irvin and his wife was Elizabeth Nichols, daughter of Adam Nichols and Mary Ann Clark. Or else Elizabeth Nichols was Ellen's niece. Or both.
Harvey Clark was born on 27 April 1837. He served in Co. H, 11 Reg't, Indiana Volunteers in the Civil War and died on 3 July 1906. He had two wives; Elizabeth Nichols, born 11 July 1836, married 28 Aug 1858, died 6 January 1866; and Levina M. Ruark, born 17 Nov 1829, married 30 Apr 1867, died 22 May 1910 (per FindaGrave).5
Ellen appeared in the census of 1870 in the household of Harvey Nichols at Putnam County, Indiana. She was 65, born in Kentucky, with $3600 real estate. Also in the household were her brother(?) John Clark and his wife.6
Ellen made a will on 29 May 1877 in Putnam County, Indiana. In her will, Ellen left all of her money and most of her household furnishings to her niece Jeaniana Nichols; a bed to each of Henry Nichol's two daughters; and all of her wearing apparel to her niece, Margaret Nichols.7
Ellen died on 10 October 1877 in Putnam County, Indiana.8,9 She was buried in the Mount Carmel Cemetery (1 mile south of Fillmore) at Putnam County.10

Rebecca Reeves
F, b. 1795, d. 1855
Rebecca Reeves was born in 1795 in Mason County, Kentucky.1,2
Per an entry in the Reeves Mail List on RootsWeb (9/17/2001), the Reeves, Dicks, and Fenton families came to Putnam Co. Indiana from Mason Co. Kentucky where they had settled along Pummel Run after coming down the Ohio River from Fayette Co. Pennsylvania about 1790. They had come to Fayette Co. from Burlington Co., New Jersey, and they had intermarried all along the way. Rebecca married John Flinn Jr. on on 17 October 1818 at Mason County, Kentucky. John and Rebecca had at least 11 children, all born in Mason County, Kentucky, including:
- Samuel R. (or Luther) Flinn. Born 1819. Married Susan (?);
- John D. Flinn. Born 1821. Married Mary Kinsler in 1845;
- Willoughby Douglas Flinn. Born 1822;
- Mary Ann Flinn. Born 1823. Married William Kinsler. Died before 1847;
- Benjamin Flinn. Born 1825. Apparently died before 1847;
- Sally (or Sarah) Flinn. Born 1828;
- Lucy Flinn. Born 1830. Married Ananias McKinley in 1850;
- Catharine Frances Flinn. Born 1831. Married Elijah Weaver in 1849;

Rebecca married Thomas Kinsler on 4 March 1841 in Putnam County. Rebecca was the widow of John Flinn at the time of her marriage to Thomas. She and Thomas were married by Sam'l Taylor, JP.
Thomas and Rebecca had at least one child, Susan, born 1842.5 Rebecca was divorced from Thomas Kinsler on on 31 October 1846 at Putnam County. Rebecca requested a divorce on the grounds of foul language, physical mistreatment and habitual drunkenness. As a result of the divorce decree, she recovered the dower estate left by her former husband as well as a financial settlement. At the time of the divorce, Thomas owned 400 acres of land between Greencastle and Fillmore, including the E 1/2 NW 1/4 S13, the NE 1/4 S13, and the E 1/2 NE 1/4 S12, all in T 14N R 4W; and also the S 1/2 SW 1/4 S17 in T14N R3W.
After her divorce, Rebecca married Thomas R. Young (1792-1860)..6,2
Rebecca was listed in the household of Caleb Reeves in the 1850 Census at the age of 55, born in Kentucky. It seems likely that Caleb was the son of Samuel Reeves who was appointed guardian of Rebecca's children after John Flinn's death and was probably her brother..7
Rebecca died in 1855 in Greencastle, Putnam County, Indiana. (Burial unknown).2
